Gems are the precious jewels placed on their belly buttons of the modern-day female trolls, in which give them their magical abilities.
Origins[]
Gems are bestowed during Sacred Amber ceremonies. When a female troll is born, she is brought to the Amber Cavez where a drop of sacred Amber is allowed to drip into her belly button. In those days of her life, the amber hardens into a uniquely shaped gemstone which infuses her with power and allowed her to make magic, primarily through the use of Spell Beads. Once the girl reaches maturity, the gem gets its glow, activating her powers.
The strength of the gem depends on its glow. When at full power, it glows normally. If it's low on power, it will faintly pulse. If the gem loses its glow completely, the owner will lose her powers.
Interestingly enough, the gems appear to be removable and colored the same as the troll's hair.
It is unknown if trolls who don't live in Trollzopolis (such as some trolls from Trollhiti Island) possess these gems.
